In recent years, the reported figure of sexual assault crime had been increasing gradually in Taiwan, and 20 percent of the sexual offenders are juvenile. People pay more attention on sexual assault crime after the myth was dispelled. The researches on sex offenders indicate that preventive and correctional strategies were proven to be more effective on juveniles than adult offenders. Therefore, this study interviewed juvenile sex offenders’ attachment relationship in order to realize the factors affecting their criminal behaviors. There were five interviewees in this study and the researcher conducted a 70 to 100 minutes semi-structured interview with each interviewee. During the interview sessions the juveniles recalled their experiences of past interactions with their families and peers, and shared the contexts and feeling of the experiences to the researcher. After the texts were analyzed, four themes from the verbatim were proposed: parenting and family interaction, significant experiences and self-adjustment in life, damaging and rebuilding process of relationship, and introspection and changes. In the conclusion, four potential factors were discussed:family structure、atmosphere and functions may affect attachment style, , interacting with deviant peers to seek sense of belonging, traumatic experiences in relationship hinder the rebuilding of attachment, and both sex education and law education are not adequate.
