The enactment of Domestic Violence Prevention Act meant that domestic violence was no longer seen as a private matter at home, and established domestic violence prevention networks. The police play an important role in the cases of domestic violence. Thus, if we can understand nowadays how the police treat domestic violence cases, the knowledge can be helpful in improving the services provided for domestic violence victims and collaboration among network members. The current research studies the concept and attitude of the police regarding domestic violence, and whether the services provided by the police have changed since the enactment of Domestic Violence Prevention Act. This study uses snowball sampling to recruit interviewees, resulting in 2 policemen and 5 policewomen to be included in the study. The research results show that the concept and attitude of the police regarding domestic violence have changed after the enactment of Domestic Violence Prevention Act. The police have also established more effective interventions, but faced many practical difficulties. Finally, based on the results of the current study, suggestions of policies and practical work have been made.
