　　目的：台灣兒童虐待舉報人數一直在增加，卻缺乏全面性兒童暴露於暴力的流行病學特徵。本研究目的為探討兒時受創與暴力的盛行率與特徵。

　　方法：全國性調查研究，以分層隨機抽樣選取5279位來自35所學校的學生為研究對象，調查台灣五種不同兒童虐待型式的盛行率。以匿名、自填式結構式問卷作為資料收集的工具。

　　結果：大部分的學生（90%, n = 4,786）曾經遭受兒童虐待，甚至在過去一年裡有82%（n = 4,326）的學生經歷至少一種型式的兒童虐待。暴力暴露是最常發生的兒童虐待型式，接著是精神虐待、身體虐待、疏忽與性虐待。平均每位學生經歷2.8種（SD = 1.51）不同型式的兒童虐待。女生被疏忽的比率高於男生，男生則是經歷較多的性虐待。

　　結論：研究結果指出台灣中學生廣泛暴露於暴力環境中，亦有可能低估嚴重的兒童虐待型式。孩童自述兒童虐待的盛行率是一個全國性的問題，台灣需審視兒童虐待的政策與資金。

● English Abstract:

     Objective: Reported cases of child maltreatment are increasing in Taiwan. Comprehensive epidemiological characteristics of children’s exposure over the wide spectrum of violence are still lacking in Taiwan. The purpose of this study is to estimate the magnitude of childhood victimization due to violence.

     Methods: A population-based study was conducted using a national representative sample of 5,279 adolescents from 35 schools to determine the prevalence of 5 different types of child abuse in Taiwan. An anonymous, self-report, structured questionnaire was used to collect data.

     Results: The majority of students (90%, n = 4,786) of students experienced at least one type of violence with 82% (n = 4,326) being exposed during the previous year. Violence exposure was the most common type of childhood victimization that children experienced, followed by psychological abuse, physical abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse. Students reported experiencing an average of 2.8 (SD = 1.51) different types of violence. Girls reported a higher rate of neglect, while boys reported a higher rate of sexual abuse.

     Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate an extensive rate of violence exposure among high school students in Taiwan. The frequency of severe forms of child maltreatment may have been underestimated. The prevalence of child-report child abuse in Taiwan is a national problem that mandates a review of child abuse funding and policy.
